"Deacon"
#18185141 ESF Deacon J697 Born 9/7/2014
How do you know if a bull truly is a good one?
First, your calf crop gets better. More uniform, growthy, problem-free calves.
Second, your pastures start to get overcrowded, because you aren't culling his daughters.
In a time where a maternal bull is defined first by calving ease and second by limited mature size; Deacon may not be popular in the Angus breeding world. However, he has been a unique asset to size, structure, fertility, & overall phenotype of our cow herd. His calves are breed average birth weights with well above average growth. His daughters add a bit of frame and power, while giving up nothing in fertility and fleshing ease. As a bonus, they are docile, attractive, feminine and have well above average udders and feet. So Deacon has earned his spot as the Corner Stone of Coon Angus Ranch. Two of his grandsons are current herd sires & you can find his daughters & granddaughters throughout the farm. If you make a trip to the farm, ask Russell about Deacon & take a tour through our cow herd. I will be surprised if your favorite picks are not his daughters and granddaughters.
