Deacon
Registered name: ESF Deacon J697
Reg. # 18185141
Sire: SydGen Dealer 9883
Maternal grandsire: S A F Connection
We bought Deacon from Rick Eggers in the fall of 2014 by private treaty. He was purchased to put a bit more growth in the Hill Billy and Yogi daughters. Deacon has above-average frame, excellent yearling weight data and a bit of ruggedness that indicates a power bull role.
However, the thing that really sold us on Deacon was the record on his Connection dam. Deacon is the third top-notch bull she has produced for Rick in three years. I would like to tell you she is blow-your-mind gorgeous, but nursing her fourth calf she looks like she works hard — our kind of cow.
We are looking forward to his first calves to see whether Deacon will sire the growth we’re hoping for, but we are pleased with him as a pasture bull. He is plenty active breeding cows, moves well and has held his condition.
